Okay here is something, what are the thoughts on tanks (hover or wheeled or tracked) with jump jets on them?

Is a good thing or not?

Looking to see what folks think about this idea.

they have their uses.
i would think that a few units that could be sent over a river(or other obstacle) to protect the pioneers that build a bridge(or make the obstacle passable) would be handy.

also in scouting it would be good to have a scout on the other side of an obstacle to guide the artillery fire.
over all it is a tool in the toolbox.

There was an article in Challenge Magazine #36 concerning tanks with jump jets with construction rules.

I think they make as much sense as with 'Mechs. Maybe more, because a humanoid 'Mech should be able to climb a really steep wall, but no vehicle would be able to. So, turn to the jump jets.

I love the idea of jump jets on vehicles for improved mobility but those suspensions better me beefy.

I agree with both Rick Raisley and boilerman regarding that vehicles should be allowed to have jump jets mounted on them [at discretion of vehicle(s)' designer(s)]. But I'm opposed to Motive System Damage Table rolls when landing a vehicle, that's using jump jets, unless that vehicle is attempting a DFA; because theoretically those jump jets would slow said landing of said vehicle to protect said vehicle's motive system like the way jump jet(s) mounted on a 'Mech, that's landing, protects its feet actuator(s) from damage unless said 'Mech is doing a DFA.

I keep playing around with WiGE designs that have jump jets but have not come up with a design I am happy with yet.

I like JJs on vehicles.

Anything that makes them more versatile is good in my book.

I would allow JJs for hovers and WIGEs because they have the type of near-ground, jet powered mobility to support having them. I would not allow JJs on other vehicle types.
