Assuming you mean HeroChip doing a really bad job of pretending not to be HeroChip... You want nonsensical unbalanced rules mated to psuedo-science quackery and the most basic lack of understanding how ANYTHING works, look no further.

In some ways, said posts are almost comically amusing in just how BAD they are.

I am still trying to picture a howitzer with a silencer, it's like someone is there telling it to be quite and failing.

Well yes when you are 40 miles away you will never be heard firing until the ship sized shell lands on your target.

I recall reading something about someone (British in WW1 or Inter-War?) actually experimenting with such an idea. Their points were #1 trying to reduce the effectiveness of enemy sound ranging counter-battery fire, #2 to spare the artillery crews at least a little of the heavy impact noise of their work. There were no illusions of actually silencing the artillery, just trying to reduce the muzzle blast somewhat. Wasn't effective, so it was abandoned.

Two words......GIANT PILLOW....

You could just use canned air to get it out of the barrel quietly.....Lots and lots of canned air, like a tomahawk launching from a sub.

News article on howitzer silencing littered with references to assorted artillery silencers and even a tank silencer patent.

They're not exactly portable for a BattleMech on the go, but they reduce the lawsuits from people who build their houses next to artillery ranges.

I live next to an Army post...the post gives to S***s less about folks complaining about the noise. Every other day they field complaints about the noise and the standard answer is:

"Yes Sir or Mama, we understand that the loud noises are keeping you awake and rattling your house, and the training should be done in a few days, also with the weather being colder sound will travel differently then during the warmer months."

Then again people who live near areas that they KNOW are going to have loud noises and then complain are the same ones who allow their kids to eat Tide Pods and do silly internet challenges...

Still cool idea though to baffle the blast more though.

I held elected office in Honolulu for 12 years and homeowners whined about anything; They bought a house near a university and didn't know that students took up all the parking during school hours -did they only look at the neighborhood during weekends before buying? Or the idiots who complained that the airport's approach path was over their neighborhood -The airport was there since the 1920's, did they just figure out that being within 10 miles of any airport would mean noise at all hours? We have an open auditorium, built in the 1950s that no longer has concerts because a few people complained of the "noise".

Homeowners here appear to be really selfish -They want to improve their homes but don't want neighbors to improve their homes because their home values and taxes are based upon the value of homes within their neighborhoods...and they oppose senior care homes or halfway houses in their neighborhoods because it may reduce the value of their homes, in case they want to sell... I asked them to compromise -They approve of their neighbor's new patio deck and place an abandoned car on their front lawn to break even.
