I have mentioned I would like to do a TO&E of the irregulars....but thee is no command structure outside of the individual groups..this soooooo needs to be rectified. the 204th does not step forward for command.....we're the cavalry, command's not our bag......

Supposedly over all command is held by the WotD though admittedly the command structure on Hagar looked like something out of MAD Magazine.

Medron Pryde has overall command. So sayeth FM: Updates.

He just rarely exercises it.

Mostly, we break down and operate as independant sub-sections and auxiliary allies (such as the FWL and former ComStar forces) toward the same objective though. While choatic, the results are almost always far more interesting this way.

Speaking of subsections... we need a name for the Irregulars Navy now.

Others members from the original WotD fill in as Medron's command staff when needed. Most of us belong to the other sub units of the DI

Navy?

Well...I did come up with the name Starlost Rednecks a while back but it flew like a lead balloon.

Maybe using the Starlost in the name? Any ideas by anyone?

Well I guess if we really needed I could come up with a C-Cube unit probably company sized or so. Essentially the guys that filters Medron's commands down to the rest of the units.

Something like the 193rd TLC

You can take that however you want, but I'm sticking to the story that it stands for Tactical Liason Company. :D

We could have the company motto be "I'm their leader, which way did they go?" in Latin or something.

As for people in it.

Longwalker below me as second-in-command.

His saying should be "Cat herder" or something like that in Latin...

:D

OK, here is what I have so far.

193rd Tactical Leadership Company
Motto: Nos plumbum, Erant es nostrum copiae
(We are the leaders, Where are our troops?)

Organization: Reenforced company(14 mechs).
Specialty: TACCOM/CON
SOP:
The 193rd serves as the battlefield link between Medron and the rest of the WOTD. Besides relaying Medron's orders to sub-units, the 193rd processes enormous amounts of data to provide Medron with the most accurate overall picture of the battle possible.

The 193rd prefers to stay at the rear of WOTD formations, focusing their attention on incoming data rather than combat. The unit will typically only engage if an enemy has managed to break through WOTD lines. Keeping with this philosophy, the 193rd prefers long range weapons that allow it to stay in the background. The notable exception is the company's scout lance. Designed to gather data when all other avenues fail, these four mechs favor speed and electronics over all else.

Command Structure:
Medron is nomially in command with Longwalker serving as his XO. However, since both normally operate independently of the 193rd, the WOTD's G6 Cpt. ? serves as the 193rd's de facto CO.

Unit Insignia: On a "God's Eye" diamond, a satellite dish with lightning bolts radiating from it, superimposed over a field of question marks.

What do you think?

I say we have Longwalker normally in command of the TLC, feeling like he's always trying to herd cats...:-)

While Medron spends most of his time running around with the WOTD having fun shooting stuff up....

As for the 193rd thang...any reason for having a number rather than just referring to it as the TLC? :-)

BTW...I LOVE that alternate idea for a saying....either one would work awesome for me...hehehe

193rd is just random. Not a neccessity but I do like the thoguht of numbering command elements because it might make an enemy with poor intel a bit uncomfortable. ex. If this is the 201st TLC where the heck is the 101st, and what's it up to?

I am all for the original or alternate mottos. The motto as is is just what the latin translator I was working with could parse. It took more than a few tries to find a phrase it could digest.

Personally I like this as the Motto of the Irregulars Spec Ops group : Proprius Copiae copie have supervenio , qua es vestri Filia quod Vinum?

But hey I might be biased :D

Motto: Nos plumbum, Erant es nostrum copiae
(We are the leaders, Where are our troops?)

that is certainly NOT the meaning of that "latin" words

plumbum is lead, the stuff Pb in the periodic system of the elements

erant es is some past term...
nostrum does not fit to copiae, copiae nostrae would be our troops(IF copiae means troops)
thats only what i notice, my latin is old and worn...

For a motto and it has another meaning...like in something is held together by bailing wire and bumblegum, meaning that it might fail and not work at any minute but some how it is still working and does the job.
