Okay in the SW Universe they have Ordnance and Repair Depots which are shorten to ORD and some of the planets in that universe have taken that acronym and added to their planet's name over time. Ord Mandel is an example. So what we are looking at would be a base or 20 on a planet that houses repair parts, ammo, weapons etc...all set to keep a sector army or fleet in business and allow it to have larger coverage area to patrol and not have to worry as much about its' lines of communication (aka supply lines) since these bases would be set up to allow overlapping coverage between regions etc...added in would also be, most likely, the factories and other support areas that would allow for the parts and such to be made locally, or maybe not since one of these planets could be off the beaten path so to speak.

So I was thinking that something similar would mostly likely exist in the BT universe and so I was trying to come up with some names, so far these are the two I have:

Regional Repair Depot (RRD)

Arsenal and Repair Depot (ARD)

So does anyone have any thoughts on this or possible ideas for names?

Workable and have the military sound to them.

WARD: World Arsenal and Repair Depot

Sounds like a military supply noun name. "Wrench, Box End." "World, Arsenal and Repair Depot." Rather appropriate, I think.

maybe this is a little OT but maybe there would also be large transporters, constructed under warship rules, that are sent to distant locations to supply the forces where no depot exists. they would be stationed at hidden, uninhabited places and stay there until they are not longer used, or empty. maybe they could also be replenished by usual freighters.
they would be called
MAD -mobile army depot
MASC -mobile army supply center

these are opposed to the non moving
SAD -stationary army depot
SASC -stationary army supply centre
