Outsider is something like that in the beginning: regular comic pages halfcovered with text bubbles. But hmm... Of late same amount of text for less panels and corridors might be in order.

Also something more could be get out of a large starship filled by women and ONE man. I wonder is just his wellbeing her concern...

I asked author of other high quality Web comic how long does it take for him to 'draw' each page. His answer: Anyway he's using 3d software (Poser) and objects to do things, which likely means he needs to make each item - like piece of clothing - once, and then he can use it as often as he wants with relatively little work. Have you considered this approach?

Also, I would say that his drawings look better than 99.9% of the CG strips out there. FAR better.

I would not like to see his quality go DOWN like that.

I am committed to continuing through at least the end of the second chapter in this format. At that time I'll assess the situation and decide if I will continue as is, put the comic on hiatus, or consider changing formats.

One option is to go with a simplified b/w manga style that eliminates the need for time-consuming coloring, but I would hate to do that, as Outsider is designed for color.

A worst-case scenario (in the event that I simply can't keep going), is that I write it out as prose with a few illustrations, just so people can see how the story comes out. I would be curious to see how that affects readership, as my impression is that the vast majority people just don't read prose online, for whatever reason.

Moving the characters to 3D isn't really an option, as there are far too many characters and they're not designed to be 3D (I think Fireblade would look very silly in 3D). 3D comics can be really well done (Dreamland Chronicles is the best example I know of), but it's a lot of work. I would never, ever consider turning Outsider into a Poser comic.

Actually, I was thinking what needs to be addressed is who "pushes the button" and whether or not he is willing to let them blow up his ship.

Of course, he should be smart enough to see the necessity of the situation. Its his WILLINGNESS to ACCEPT the situation that I will be most interested in seeing go through his mind...

Humans are telepathic, so we rely on body language and words to speak.

They rely on their minds. And they can't lie to each other. Maybe they've never learned to control their body language because of that. Or READ it for that matter because they don't NEED to.

You know, unless the artist is throwing us a BIG curve ball here, I think these people might be the most honest tyrants ever seen in the galaxy. They don't lie. You know EXACTLY where you stand with them. The trick is getting them to see that you are valuable.

Or poor little Earthling has a real job ahead of him.

I suspect it's Our Hero's job to get these clowns to do more visual scanning, what with the breakdown with the PrecogDAR; You'd think with all the effort the Lorri put into King Hell Screen on the bridge they'd have a watch up on that balcony, and they'd do Crazy Ivans to check the spots the hatch 'n seats cover, but so far . . .

I don't think "fragile elves" cover the Lorri, nor do I think a "tougher" Human would bring anything to naval warfare; Human's might have a special insight into naval warfare, but what makes anyone think the Lorri need it?
