...that you're playing with a munchkin!

10. His characters all have last names like Wolf, Allard-Liao, Kerensky, Miraborg, Steiner-Davion and McEvedy.

9. He has played with level 3 rules so much, he doesn't remember how to play the regular level 1 game.

8. All his Mechs are Clan-tech Omnis, that just HAPPEN to have custom configs of pulse lasers and TC's.

7. His slowest Mech has a cruising speed in double digits.

6. His idea of a mercenary unit is a fully-equipped Davion RCT with its own Avalon cruiser.

5. He has a pair of "crit dice" that ALWAYS seem to roll 12's. He also has another pair that always seem to roll 2's. He also never lets anyone touch either pair.

4. He thinks that a horde of Savannah Masters is the answer to everything.

3. He always plays whatever faction currently seems to be on top of the canon game world.

2. His character has a new background story every time he comes to the table.

1. One word: Daishi.

-----

These are all based on situations I've encountered in real life, even #5...I've caught twinks with loaded dice a couple of times.

Sarah McEvedy was the Wolverine Khan who defied Nicholas Kerensky in the Grand Council. She should have killed him in the that meeting when she had the chance.

One thing that Dave may have overlooked...

10.5 Any mech that is slower than double digits has no less than 10 ERMLs with 25+ DHSs.

I've been trying to figure out how I can right up my merc units fluff to have an Avalon cruiser, its just that I can't figure out how to make it sound not munch. The best I can come up with is that they found that missing Davion Avalon and kept it, but it seems alot of merc units have been finding that same cruiser.
Also I think it might be easier to explain the two Congress class corvets they have.

For the record, I quite like the Daishi... The one on the cover of Way of the Clans was what got me into Battletech...

But making one that can blow off all it's heat after alpha striking isn't easy... :p

Gack, those are some super-heated monsters!

See, I like to be able to fire all or most of my weapons without cremating my pilot in the process...

Personally I never equip a merc unit as an RCT as they are undergunned. Likewise, I would never use a Avalon as a merc ship as it is lousy at orbital bombardment.

Anyone who sez that a Daishi is a MunchkinMech, has neither overheated a Daishi Prime, or run a Daishi B at all. (3 Ultra AC-2s.....wasted tooneage.) :D

I think that for that kind of bet Saback might be the game.
But anyway why your merc RTC is going to use an Avalon??? Don´t you know anything at all? The Avalon is to small to carry all the RTC´s dropships you need to try the custom XLKF equiped Leviathan. It´s only Lvl 3 I think  :rotate:

Actually, you're both right, the answer is 42 Savannah Masters. :D :D :D

Anyone else notice that 6 x 9 = 42, if you use a base 13 number system? Or is it just me? :P

Oh, c'mon, we're all basically gamer geeks here (though I think most of us are old enough to be in the habit of bathing regularly, at least). ;)

And actually, I can be a blast at the parties my wife drags me to... though I tend to start acting highly deranged to 'freak the Mundanes' once I get bored. Heh. :vampire:

Speaking of Freaking the Mundanes... Go to a Pizza Hut in medieval Arms and Armor and see how long it takes to clear the place of all Mundanes... 2.4 minutes is our record here.... :)

Freaking the Mundanes was a favorite pastime of mine when I didn't have kids... :)

Also I do Crossword puzzles while playing chess... I'm about 4 for 7 while doing the Crossword... :)

As a further example...no, the Pi Guy doesn't play Btech...he's more of a D&D player....

My first university, University of Texas at Dallas, didn't offer any athletic scholarships...but it did offer scholarships for academic competitions. The school quickly established its chess, debate, and College Bowl programs and made them some of the best in the nation. (guess who was on all three?...guess who doesn't have a life?)

For one of the chess club member's birthdays, we all went to a hole-in-the-wall private club. (Dry county..had to have a membership..)

We started playing chess for shots...loser bought. Our resident grand master grad student then proposes a challenge...

He played five simultaneous games, blindfolded, with shots for pieces...
This guy was blindfolded, playing on 5 different boards, consuming a fair amount of alcohol, and still able to win 4 of the 5 games...last one was a stalemate....

How's that for a part trick?

Speaking of Freaking the Mundanes... Go to a Pizza Hut in medieval Arms and Armor and see how long it takes to clear the place of all Mundanes... 2.4 minutes is our record here.... :)

Freaking the Mundanes was a favorite pastime of mine when I didn't have kids... :)

Also I do Crossword puzzles while playing chess... I'm about 4 for 7 while doing the Crossword... :)
I have friends who do medieval arms and armor...me....I do cloaks and 7 foot staffs.....we all tend to get some wierd looks....especially when I go to movies like that....

Yes I know. Saw Henry V in the Theater and we all showed up in Garb. It was great, until most of us were quoting lines that the others couldn't hear... We told them to listen to us and you won't miss anything.... :)

My ex and I used to play Magic the Gathering at the local greasy spoon, but we had to stop because we got tired of people coming up to the table and asking to have their fortune read with the cards.
