Here's a nice little guy I just finished .

With all of the external stores, hoses , pipes, flamethrower tips it has a very retro look.

Perhaps the 3025 Firestarter came from this design.

I just love DA mechs , so much fun to "slice and dice" on.

Give me an AC/10, A Targeting Computer, & some AP rounds. Then we can all watch a walking torch. Nice kitbash.

HM............. Seems the flamethrower GIs' of WWII had the same problem.

The Retro Firestarter is a specific function mech most likely detailed to a mop up unit or on call waiting to take out a hardened structure.

I think it was a DA Construction mech, that had the tanks on the right arm rear. I just did some "slicing and dicing" to make a duplicate left arm.

For CBT game play, the tanks are armored and self-sealing. The individual chemicals in the tanks are inert The mixture is ignited only as it leaves the nozzles. Therefore there are no explosions

needs some smoke stacks because mech based flamers don't use fuel, they throw plasma from the reactor. OTOH, an ICE mech would need a fuel based flamer system.

Don't I.C.E. 'Mechs use vehicle flamers?

You are correct, Bob.

Actually, I believe standard Battlemechs *can* use vehicle flamers-but who would want to?

Why use smoke stacks or an ICE type of mech.??? Unless you're staying in the DA game.

It's possible that a mech could shunt plasma from the fusion core to act as a propellant .

Plasma is excited electrons from what I've read.

Adding a chemical with a gel base and ignition source would just enhance the heated plasma effect.

Could this be a super-heated version of napalm ??

Yeah, you should read the fluff on the Olympian Flamer like Hitman is saying.

The Olympian flamer seems to fit the bill.

3067 - 3025 = 42 years of development.......

I'm sure the OF would have had major refinements to is system during this time period. Or, a new company eould have created a varient of it and the gelsubstance.

Perhaps its a varation of Clan Har-jel................

Now that would be a kick in the pants. turning a life saving gel into the base component for a flame thrower.
