Does anyone have any advice for or against using CAV miniatures with regular BT miniatures?

I've never done it, but it seems that they would work pretty well, what with the ever-increasing size of BT minis. They're probably more suitable for miniature rules than mapsheet play, due to the hex size of BT mapsheets. You might find it advantageous to mount them on BT-style hex bases.

Morgan Devalis, I know, has used a lot of CAV minis as Mechs. He's also done a lot of custom tinkering, sometimes mixing and matching CAV stuff on to BattleMech figs, and vice-versa.

As for me, I only have one CAV mini, but I use it as an 85-ton Mech. I'd have to ask Morgan what the CAV name of it was, but here's the way he designed it ('twas a b-day present):

I seen CAV minis used in BT. They look good & there the right size more or less.

I have used them in BT and they work well. I also took the time to make mech sheets up for the CAVs so as to use them in BT...

The game CAV is a good one and it's fun and both offer a lot to each other. The miniatures work for each and it's a good way to get a miniature for a home mech.

I have four of them. They fit in pretty well.

Koda Works Vanquisher may be a 69 ton CAV, but set next to the new Masakari 'Mech its maybe 3.3cm taller. Carries a pair of gatling cannons per arm and a set of LRM and SRM on the shoulders.

Mark IV Industries Wraith weighs in a 96 tons and manages to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Masakari. Carries a pair of gauss cannons, a LRM and a SRM pack on its shoulders.

KDM Puma is a 38 ton CAV. Carries a flamer and probably a medium laseron its arms. The 35 ton Oscout is 5cm taller, but the Puma is bulkier.

KDM Panther is 36 tons, as tall as the Oscout, but just as big and bulky as the Puma. Carries a pair of small lasers in its arms.

Just need to rebase them as the CAV base that comes with the mini is a trifle large.

Is it possible you reversed centimeters (cm) and millimeters (mm) or some other unit during this post? 5 cm is about 2 inches, and while I believe the Ostscout may be taller than the CAV mini, wouldn't its being 2 inches taller make the CAV mini about the height of a hex base?

Quite possible. The only ruler that I had handy was a metric one. It goes from 1 to 46, had 4 hash marks, a longer hash, four smaller ones. Nothing on it says mm or cm, I just assumed it was cm.

I see no problem with using them. They can be a bit large in some cases, but a bit of modeling work ought to fix that. I'd like to see any projects you come up with.

Im not familiar with the mini's your talking about. BUT I do have a few MekTron miniatures and they work well too. We even use micro armor for light tanks so I say use it.

I use a lot of MicroArmor on my fields. The only problem was when I used a German Maus, USA Abrams, and Canadian ADAT's on the same side. The other side was also interesting Israeli Merkava's, British FV-432 81mm Mortar's, and Russian BMP-2's

I use an Ogre or a Rhino I think it is called, at my table for the Rampage. My Stone Rhino turned Omni. It is the right size for an assault Mech. It scares the crap out of some of my player cause the Rampage is just sick!

I found some Anime minis ages ago that really fit the whole IIC style very well. I wish I knew what brand they were.
