If you haven't noticed lately, I recently picked up a large MW collection and I've been having lots of fun creating some new toys. Several of them have been VTOLs over the last week.

So I get this PM from someone on another site who likes my VTOL creations and blurts out..........

"Well, I betcha can't do this.....................

Damn son, don't you know........... The House always wins in Vegas !!!..............

Here you go....... A tandem rotor super heavy attack helo.

Beautiful! There's a guy over at CBT.com who can reverse-engineer dial stats & all for DA stuff; if you ask nicely, I'm sure he could give you some playable stats!

No way !!........ they're rapid firing twin 105 mm howitzers.

While the AA guys are looking up for the fast movers this helo comes in low about 12' off the ground. It sneaks up on their asses and pound that AA site into snail snot.

What I like is that you have turned the MW stuff in to something useful.

Really wish I could get some of your reworks...

Wonder if you could a FOUR rotar version as well???

Thanks for the compliment...........

This is a real easy kitbash to do. The hard part was creating the wings to the engine pods.

The engine pods are Calvary helos with the front and rear chopped off..... the front turbine faces are "Hot Wheel" car wheels.........

I could do a 4 rotor but it may look to clunky with those plastic MW rotor discs. Let me give it some thought.

I know of several experimental 4 rotor units from photo books and watching the old "Wings" series on cable.

I saw some pics recently either in Popular Mechinics or Science or was it Army Times, not sure, been a busy last week and half with my unit getting ready to deploy here in 15 days, that had the Army's idea of a heavy lift VTOL that had four rotars on what looked like small angled towers on the four conners of the VTOL chasiss.

Plus a large ramp out the rear end of the vehicle.

I'm betting this is a superheavy VTOL that is more than 30 tons in weight. ;-)

Yes, you are correct. I'm gonna need paper and pencil to do the math since BT helos can only top out at 30 tons.

This is definitely going to fit in the 50 ton and up region

SUV

Small VTOL 1 - 4.99
Medium VTOL 5 - 30
Large VTOL 30.5 - 60

suggest Tech level D (standard IS Tech)

if you use Snipers, thats 31 or 32 tons for the guns and ammo, leaving 28-29 tons for the weight of the craft & Components... Base Chassis & Control weight is 30% (18 tons) * TL D Mod of 1
engine and transmission weight Factor is .4
Movement Factor is 4 + (Cruise MP * Cruise MP)

if you use Thumpers, thats 21 or 22 tons for the guns and ammo,
leaving 38-39 tons for the weight of the craft & Components... Base Chassis & Control weight is 30% (18 tons) * TL D Mod of 1
engine and transmission weight factor is .4
Movement Factor is 4 + (Cruise MP * Cruise MP)

how fast?
