Project: Dark Phoenix Locust
Originally I had made the DP Locust using the new Koto Solaris mech, which was stated in the fluff to be based on the Locust. Thats all fine and I was happy with how it turned but it was too big. For this version it is all reseen Locust except for the main body. There I used the Koto's lower torso. Has the nice vent on the one side which will make a fine viewport. Only thing left to do is to drill out the barrel tips and add the antenna.

the locust has always been one of the tallest mechs...

the VW on stilts is intended as a scout mech, and is therefore intended to be able to stand and look over relativly tall objects in addition to needing the long legs to get its long stride

i woudl not be surprised if it had long stubs off the back of its knees like the timberwolf in order to ride up them and REALLY extend its legs

remember, height and weight are rarely linked despite what most people say... it is surface area as a whole that may be relevant to mass

you are familiar with the Spindley bean pole and the squat 300 pound weightlifter, yes?

haha, that's a funny mental image! But hey, that's the point of having a humanoid design, so you can do stuff like that.
