I needed an assault mech to go with my growing trinary of DA scale Smoke Jaguars and decided to try and come up with a Direwolf equivelent.
Gathering the parts I needed, I decided to use a Cygnus as the base, Cougar feet and arms with Madcat MKIV lasers attached.
Originally I had planned on fitting the cockpit from the Madcat MKIV to the torso, but decided to leave the Warhawk style cockpit as it was.
I have fluffed it out as an early golden century mech that eventually became the Direwolf omni-mech.

==Overview:==
First fielded in 2907, the Grand Jaguar was meant to serve as the totem mech
for the Smoke Jaguar clan. Weighing in at 100 tons, it was heavily armed and
armored. Designed primarily for long range combat, it was easily capable of
destroying medium and light mechs in a matter of seconds once they came into
range of it's weapons.
The mechs only flaw was it's relatively weak close combat defensive
capability. Analyzing battle rom's of combat losses, Smoke Jaguar scientists
decided to sacrifice some of the long range weaponry in favor of heavier short
to medium range weapons.
For nearly 50 years, the Grand Jaguar served proudly as the mech of choice for
Smoke Jaguar Galaxy and cluster commanders. To keep the two version distinct
from each other, the new design would be developed into the Direwolf omni-mech
and eventually replaced the Grand Jaguar in many Smoke Jaguar front line
units.
Some of the mechs distinctive features such as the boxy cockpit and twin
barreled arm mounts would also be incorporated into the clans new Warhawk
design.
While the Direwolf and Warhawk designs are to be found in nearly every clan,
only the Smoke Jaguars continue to field the Grand Jaguar.
