Bubba Joe MaCarthy was an affable fellow with a drawl everyone immediately identified with somewhere definitely south of the lower back 40.
His painfully slow and langurous movements just added to everyone's disbelief in their first impression of Bubba Joe as being a top notch Recon Mechwarrior.
"I jus nose whered dose uder fellas wood be to. I didt now how ?, I jus nose" Bubba Joe would drawl as he repeatedly could find the outer edge of any enemy screening force before anyone else..
But, poor Bubba Joe was a pining for his beloved hunting dog "Ole Blu" he had to leave at home when he reached conscription age.
His Lancemates always hear him mumbling to himself as he would climb into his mech.
" Sheet, ifin I had "Ole Blu" wid me I'd pin down dose uder fella's in two wags uh his tail. Damnation, I shure miss my dog"
As Fortune seems to smile upon the innocent , unknown to Bubba Joe a new quad mech was being issued to the Recon Company. To a man, every member of the Company from the Captain on down voted to get Bubba Joe into this quad after certain alterations to its armored profile were done.
I wonder what Bubba Joe was thinking as they pulled the cover off the quad ??
