As usual, I always start with pulling out drawers, boxes and baggies full of parts with no idea of the final outcome.
As pieces were looked over, rejected, I kept coming back to a set of leftover goofy legs from one of the "Iron Man" 7-11 drinking straw trinkets. I had already used the torso for another kitbash and tossed these legs into a parts bin.
At first I wanted to slice it apart since the stance was so out of balance. I finally decided to keep it and build some sort of action pose. I soon found a small resin hill and placed it on the base to give some reason as to the twisted leg position.
The Gauss Rifle practically assembled itself, with the longest time frame being the modding of a lower leg into an ammo bin. 5 simple pieces were used to give the GR a bulkier appearance.
The left arm is a stock ConMechB weapon turned upside down and fitted to the torso. The swivel still works so the arm can rotate nearly 60 degrees.
The torso is from another mech inverted to give it a better shape and disguise the original source.
The Head is unique as it was originally a pelvis from some smaller mech with a pair of plastic wings added for disguise. An ICE engine converted into a jetpack with added jet nozzles completes the build.
There was minimal drilling and pinning to anchor the arms, torso, and legs together. A simple monotone paint scheme was used to unify the various parts. All in all an easy build-up with the sum of the parts far exceeding the original individual parts. A very nice easy 4 hours from start to posting
Hope you enjoy it...
