Sho-sa Urizen Takiro was excited as his fingertips brushed over the control panel tabbing the sensors to convert the LAM from aircraft to mech as his machine prepared for touchdown. A firm believer in Shintoism he nodded his visored helmet towards the sky knowing that the spirits of the air were guiding him back to earth.
The technology needed to create a LAM had been around for centuries. That the 12th Ghost Regiment was awarded funds and materials to pursue this lost-tech concept by Gunji-no-Kanrei Kurita made the honor of being the "test-pilot" all the more important.
Urizen was just finishing the last test scenario which had proven extremely tough to complete all test objectives. As touchdown approached he quietly chuckled, then spoke out loud "Yes, Ryujin you are finally a Dragon today" .
Urizen had privately named the LAM "Ryujin" for an ancient Japanese dragon. It was said that Ryujin could change shape from a dragon into that of a human. What better name for this mech that could change its own shape for its own advantage.
I've always wanted to try the 12th Ghost scheme, but thought I'd just make a mess of it. So, it's hard enough to do on a static mech, but no........I gotta go try it on a mid-form changing LAM.........
Enjoy............
