Drew has made an announcement over at the CBT boards. They are going to attempt to set a standard for vehicle mini scales. He wants our input.

I use Micro Armor for 35-45 ton vehichles, and anything hevier than 50 i switch to the normal tanks. but all my stuff isnt to scale anyhow. with the ral partha minis you didnt see big difference in the mini size. my patton is about the same size as a shrekk ppc carrier and a demolisher just has a big turret. I like the way the microarmor depicts the lighter tanks, if the demolisher is supposed to be a 100 ton tank.

I use a lot of Micro Armour too. Mostly for custom designs & to sub in for minis I don't have. Now are they talking about makeing a set scale for all minis? Or one for Mechs & one for vehicles?

I use a lot of different miniature types for vehicles...some of them range from the small tanks you get from the store with the 1 inch tall infantry (hey they fit really nicely into an Axis and Allies game) and I use those for some custom stuff.

Plus I mix in stuff from GerigKreig and other games, but mostly from Orge. Which has a nice scale for their stuff. Small tanks are small and big ones are big.

Maybe mixing in something that follows the actually scale of things like small for light and so forth would be the best to go with.

The scale should be compatible for both mechs and vehicles as well as for the other miniatures. Fighters aren't as big as warships or dropships...

I use whatever's handy, myself. And it doesn't necessarily have to be a mini. More than a few bottlecaps, Matchbox cars, polyhedral dice, green plastic army men, and even stranger objects have found their way onto my tables at different times.

That said, it would be nice if Battletech had some sort of consistent scale to it, though we're probably years too late on that...
