Just a Stinger replacement, but with the size bump comes some extra speed, and range for the main gun. The loss of ammo to explode will dishearten many a light 'Mech pilot, I'm shore . . . ;-)

I love it. Cheap, decent range, adequate firepower, fairly durable for a light scout, and fast enough for a modern scout. I might switch the SXPL for a SPL, and a ERML, or standard ML, but that is just me. Do SXPL get the machine gun style damage against infantry like SPLs do?

The boost in speed and jumps is really needed. The old Stinger/Wasp was getting to the point where half the heavies and most mediums could at least match their speed.

Do you need the compact heat sinks crit wise?

Price wise I would take a pair of these over three lvl 1 Stingers or Wasps, which is about equal C-Bills.

Small X-Pulses: Yeah, they do.

Compact HSs: Yeah, I did.

;-)

This is the only place for them: under-engined light 'Mechs . . .
