You read Jihad final reckoning then?

I'm not scared of the Omega, but the Gestalt is scary.

Really? I think it takes a better man then I to handle the heat load that thing has to manage: Every second or third turn, it has to jump away, naked, without the Void Sig to cover it's ass, and not fire at all.

I am not impressed by the bigger mechs, sure they pack a lot, but they have so much going against them....don't get me wrong cool to have but some of the rules still need work like the crits and record sheets...munchkins will be popping out of woodwork with their ultimate mech to end all mechs.

But that's part of the gag, to me: Seeing how movement points have no place in "ultimate"! :rotate:

Point...back in the days of home rules and plenty of time to play the game, my group of friends came up with 100 plus ton mechs, we had a guy who liked to build a 150 ton quad with nothing but either LRM5s and ammo or one with nothing but AC5 and ammo. It became a bit dull when Chris would use these mechs, sure they were slow, but they had range and given that we didn't play on more then four maps...you get the picture.

Movement is not even something these things are going to do...air strikes would be the end of them...

I do wonder if showing the new rules to Chris will get him back into the game....
