What are you thinking this quad would be used for by the Clans? To my thinking it "might" work as a totem mech along the lines of the Thunder Stallion, but that is about it.

It has good speed for a 100 tonner, but can't outrun much of anything. The armor is great, but with the XL and lack of an AMS or ECM you can do as well protection wise with a bipedal mech.

This guy really doesn't have anything that can reach out and touch someone, even if the turret does give good coverage. As a Clan design you would expect this guy to go up against Elementals, but MGs just don't cut it for that job.

Honestly, I'm just kinda blah about it. If the fluff gave a good reason for the way it is setup I might be persuaded, but as is I don't see myself making much use of this guy. Would you consider dropping the class 10 Ultra for something like paired ERLLs and the required heat sinks? Maybe switch the MGs for a spread of AP Gauss mounts?

I'm kinda with rockjock on this one... as a weapons platform, it is somewhat lacking oomph. Also, 95 tons is the heaviest "efficient" speed for a 4/6 XL engine mech.

i think if the inner sphere could build it it would like it as an assault platform, as u say in a 95-ton version. clanners just do not like the fighting style this is good at(in-city brawler maybe)

All the more reason to ask why they would construct it at 100 tons in the first place.

the higher prestige of the 100-ton weightclass...?
the government issued a competition for a 100-ton assault mech?
a 100-ton chassis was available?

If you want to use 100 tons go for it. All I'm saying is that it is not an efficient weight class for a 4/6 mech.

i know, the constructors know, sometimes however to sell an item to the politicians instead of makeing it better u have to make it more impressive.
what will sell first: the go-faster-red ferrari that does 195 mph, or the mouse-grey one that does 200 ?
if the question is about military eq that has to be sold to politicians the answer is clear. most of the time...

This is still not my favorite design, but the GR/ERML combo makes it much more appealing to me. think the fluff would make or break this guy. Why go for that speed in a high end assault? Why a quad at all? That sort of thing.

the speed of the slowest unit determins the whole traveling speed.
then the free heatsinks that are in-engine raise with larger engine/speed

why a quad? theoretically it is a more stable platform for firing.

i think a fluff could be made around these ideas
