Okay I was playing around with things and I took what I thought was a similar approach on these...but it turns out not to be the case, so I am going to go with the idea that the T2 version of the Atlas below was the rush to get the cool toys into it, send out to fight the Terran's enemies and then later once they figured out that they could build it for less and still get it similar firepower the standard 7T comes into play.
