==Overview:==
The A27L-C Centaur was a 'Mech built mainly as concept fighting platform
verses a true front line machine.

The Trevithick Autosteam Combine design team want to use some of the new
technology that they had access to with the fall of the Blake regime and they
knew they needed something to offer to keep their bosses happy as well as keep
a paycheck.

Built partly on the Themoplis Station in Lunar orbit and at the main
Trevithick site on Terra, the Centaur came out as one would expect when a
group of techinical engineers and designers were allowed to build what they
wanted with very lose parameters and sizable budget to work with. Add in the
lure of new technology, the outcome is not always the most aspiring thing.

The HV AC/5 is one of those weapons that leaves me saying "oh for *** sake just use a LRM-10".

Which frees up more than enough tonnage to drop the XL engine -- if you're gonna slap a fancy tech on it, heavy FF.

50 tons endo, 6/9/0 SFE, 8 tons heavy FF, 10 DHS, LRM-10@2, 3xERML, STK-4@1, CASE. All fits.

Otherwise if you're gonna have the XL, do something with that 8 tons -- like a light gauss and a second streak-4.

50 tons endo, 6/9/0 XL, 8.5 tons FF, 10DHS, LGR@1, 3xERML, 2xSTK-4@1, CASE...

Though if you REALLY want to go Tactical Munchbook for a 12 ton weapon, the ELRM-15 makes the heating, ventilation, air conditioning look like a toy.

Will play around with the two variants you suggested.

Interesting the HV-AC and the Light Gauss are only a 100,000 CBills difference in price. The LRM variant is 4 million cheaper.

THe HV guns are just something I have never really used. They are weird, with the smoke cloud, and just not enough of an upgrade over other tech in my book.

What about a LGR, FF armor and a Actuator Enhancement System for the LGR arm for something exotic?

Some of the new tech out there has left me behind a bit, I am not up to speed on the AES, but I can see options for it, if it allows the mech to gain something for the weight and space.

It would give you a bonus on an arm mounted weapon like the LGR. Without checking the rulebook I think the AES gives a -1 like a TC, but only for weapons mounted in that arm, and also for punches. It is good when a TC won't fit because of too much tonnage in direct fire weapons, or you want it for one arm mounted big gun. You can also put them in the legs, but I think you must mount a pair, and it gives a piloting bonus.
