I still don't like Alacorns, but may last attempt to "fix" them blew the point about being "recognizable" as an Alacorn. Oy.

So here we are: Three Gaussi, 90 tons (to fit on Heavy bridges), a full set of secondary- and thridary-guns (infantry are a threat to be countered), and . . . that hideous price tag, combined with only so-so armor. :-?

What'cha'gon'a do?

:) I seem to end up with 40 or 90 ton vehicles.

I was expecting a Small X-Pulse Laser instead of a Machine Gun, and I am not sure about the Gauss ammo supply, though with the amount of attention it would receive it may be enough :undecided: The armor is not much below what I would normally mount on a 90 ton tank. Overall I would prefer to use this version over the original.

A small X-Pulse would have needed another HS; That, and I'd lose a point of armor to the bigger turret . . . :-]

A fusion engine comes with 10 heat sinks.

You are using 5 of them for the one ERML.

How much heat does a small X-Pulse generate that you would need another heat sink?

House Rule: Gaussi use energy to move their ammo; Ergo they need HSs to work, even in fusion tanks . . .

5 for the laser, 3 for the Gausseseses, 3 for the X-pulse . . . ;-)

That's right: Hawk Moths blow chunks at my table.

That is why I picture part of the GR structure on a tank is a cooling fin, or something similar, the same reason that ACs and LRMs vent their heat. I figure leave the vehicle heat alone. They need all the help that they can get.

I've always assumed that gauss rifles trickle-charged from the generator, never spiking power from it, which is the reason they don't generate a large amount of heat.
