Overview
Clan Hell's Horses have a bias towards vehicles and infantry even allowing
Mechwarriors and elementals who have failed their initial Trial of Position to
undertake a second Trial for vehicle crews and conventional infantry
respectively. When Clan Hell's Horses produced the Mars assault vehicle, they
also experimented with a faster version and later, with a slower version that
eventually lead to the new Alamo super heavy tank design. The name of the
design comes from an old terran fort located in Texas which was involved in
a battle against insurmountable odds in 1836.



Capabilities
The Alamo is a heavy, tracked vehicle which relies on armor and defensive
systems to survive on the battlefield. The design carries a massive amount
of Hardened Armor, Armored Motive System, CASE, Angel ECM and anti-
missile systems to protect the vehicle. The weaponry of the tank was designed
to be versatile which was achieved with the variable ordnance of the Arrow IVs
and LRMs which can also be fired indirectly.



The Alamo has a main turret. In addition, the design is equipped with two side
sponson turrets each with a 180 degree arc which provide the design with
exceptional coverage for its firing arcs. The crew of 14 has sufficient room
and facilities within the spacious interior of the large design to operate
comfortably for extended periods of time. Unfortunately, the high cost of
the design will guarantee that it will never be produced in large numbers.



Deployment
So far Clan Hell's Horses has produced a prototype Alamo super heavy tank
and have stationed it with an elite vehicle crew on their capital of Niles. Some have
speculated that this deployment is in response to the proximity of that Clan's
capital to the Inner Sphere coupled with the unfortunate events that recently
took place on the Smoke Jaguar capital of Huntress.
