==Overview:==
The Taureau is a medium tank designed in the Astral Republic. It is both a
contemporary and companion of the RMF's Destrier ISV, which it supports in
combined arms. The most current version is the Taureau A2, which solves issues
that appeared during the Jihad.

==Capabilities:==
The Taureau (French: "Bull") is designed as a combined arms companion for the
Destrier ISV. It therefore has a similar but larger drive system, with fusion
powered tracks and 84 KPH speed, enabling it to follow the Destrier everywhere
its weight allows. The Taureau also has all the common features and amenities
of RMF AFV's, including CASE for its ammo bin, modular armor for easy repairs,
a ration cooker, and external power outlets for campsites and other uses.

The Taureau A2's armament is wholly revised, based on lessons from the Jihad.
The main gun is downsized to a standard LL, with a coaxial SPL added for
anti-infantry use. The SRM rack  is replaced by a versatile MML-5, allowing
more flexibility to suit tactical and logistical situations. The AMS on the
turret roof is the only original armament remaining. An indirect result of
these changes is that the A2's turret is slightly lighter than the original,
improving stability due to the slightly lower center of gravity.

The Taureau's armor has also been  revised. The original FF armor is replaced
by less costly standard armor, with slightly greater thickness over the entire
tank.

Overall, the Taureau A2 projects marginally less direct firepower than its
ancestor, but that loss is more than compensated by improved versatility and
toughness. The A2's unit cost is also about 10% less than the original, making
it a better fit for the RMF's budgets.

==Battle History:==
The Taureau has served the RMF in all of its modern wars. It has proven to be
a tough, balanced design that is well matched against other medium tanks and
even lighter Mechs.

==Variants:==
The original Taureau was armed with a PPC, SRM-6 and AMS, and used FF armor.
It is no longer used by the RMF, though a few may be found in war memorials in
the Astral Republic. 

Some early Taureaus had a targeting bug in their AMS that could cause the
Taureau's AMS to engage its own missiles. This problem was solved with a
firmware update before the Jihad, but not before it became part of the
Taureau's personality. Urban legends of this issue persist into the present
era, and Taureau gunners are still trained to reboot their malfunctioning AMS,
just in case. 

==Deployment==
The Taureau has been the RMF's standard medium tank since 3050. It is used in
all of the RMF's conventional regiments.

This is probably the most well-balanced medium tank I've seen in a while. It would be difficult to surpass this.

i like it also, in fact trying to make something that is better is rather hard. the following design is the attempt to build something that resembles the Taureau as much as possible , while being a wheeled IFV.

They did change the AMS rules to where they don't go dry after one use correct?

i have no idea, i just figured a medium IFV could use all protection possible. of course the weight could be used for something else.

I'm a little behind on the boards, but great design. A very usable and balanced tank for a niche that should be very, very common in the game world.
