This is different than the original version that may actually still be in the archive. The original design of the Athena and Eagle removed all but one capital weapon to allow them to be as small as they are. But the new light capital weapons introduced in the most recent core book gave me a very interesting option. I could keep all of the cap weapons that the Eagle had while making them smaller. This was the result and I must say that I think it is really cool. Much better than the original.

==Overview:==
The early days of the Jihad cost the Dragoons thousands of lives and much
of their naval fleet, including the Sovetskii Soyuz-class Athena. They
continued to fight though, pushing the Word back with the remains of their
fleet and the support of others. They didn't have the resources to build new
WarShips though, a simple fact they took without question, until the Free
Worlds League fleet arrived over Outreach to support them. The League fleet
included some "baby" WarShips, freshly built, and the Dragoons looked at them
with interest. After their trial by fire in the Terran system, the Dragoons
decided to copy the League. They purchased one of the Eagle IIs and upgraded
it with Clan technology.
In early 3075, the Athena slipped its moorings and joined the naval force
to fight the Word in the outer Terran system. It fought well and the Dragoons
began mass producing the design. The Athena-class frigates have served them
faithfully ever since. Some think they don't have enough anti-naval weapons,
but fighters fear the arrival of an Athena, and a battle line of them can
quickly reduce other WarShips to ruin. The Dragoons sell Athenas to their
mercenary allies, and they have become a common sight in the Human Sphere.
