Hello everyone, first post on the forums here. Finally found them and got the program, so much easier than pen and paper. Anyway, this is the first design I finished with the program, an early Combine battleship designed during the Von Rohrs reign. While everything seemed to line up, I may have ended up using a part that wasn't available to them at the time or messed up my history, so if that's the case and you spot it, please let me know. Additionally, I'm a bit of a technophobe, so if the code's wrong or what have you, apologies. That said, I'd love some feedback on the ship. Cheers!
Code:

==Overview:==
In 2486 Yama Von Rohrs, then Coordinator of the Draconis Combine, was looking
towards the future of his nation. In particular, he was looking at the
upcoming turn of the century, and how the Von Rohrs Dynasty could cement
themselves in the annals of history. He wanted a symbol, and he wanted it to
herald the 26th century.

For nearly two centuries, the Terran Hegemony's Dreadnought- and Monsoon-class
Battleships had been the end-all be-all in naval warfare, and the newer
Farragut-class put them to shame. Even the cursed Davions had created the
Defender-class Battlecruiser. The path was clear. The Draconis Combine would
create a ship capable of flying alongside such behemoths of the Hegemony, and
utterly annihilating the paltry Davion hunk of scrap metal.

To accomplish this, Yama solicited designs from various aerospace firms across
his realm. The request was simple: A true batlecruiser. Swift enough to choose
when and where to engage, powerful enough to destroy any ship in its path. The
first of the class to be lauched in the year 2500.

Though each firm submitted a design (who wouldn't given the origin of the
request), it was the lead team of Midway Shipyards to whom Yama Von Rohrs
bestowed the honor.

==Capabilities:==
The design submitted by Midway was (at least by its tonnage) classified as a
battleship, massing just over 1.4 million tons. What set it apart from its
contemporaries was its speed. Capable of safely sustaining 2g of thrust and
inceasing to 3g when necessary, the Coordinator approved of the design and
(much like his father) christened it the Von Rohrs-class Battleship.

While it was fast, the tonnage requirement for so vast an engine left little
room for both weaponry and cargo. Deciding to mount weaponry to take advantage
of the ship's maneuverability and to reduce design time, each firing arc was
quite similar. Spread evenly across the ship were 16 Sunspot-3L Particle
Projection Cannons and 32 HellStar Light Particle Projection Cannons. These
were the primary long range punch of the ship. An additional 16 Scarborough-30
Series Naval Autocannons produced locally on Al'Nair offered a heavy short
range punch to follow up. Finally, all six side arcs were fitted with 24
Omicron-45 Series Naval Lasers (in 12 banks of 4 each) to give the ship a
potent slashing attack during maneuvers and broadsides. Almost as an
afterthought, 64 Diverse Optics Type 30 Large Lasers and 32 Yori Flyswatter
Anti-missile systems were included for point defense against aerospace
fighters. An unusual move at the time, but it was reasoned that the ships
could not afford to be lost to swarming aerospace fighters.

After much debate amongst the design team, the weaponry was deemed "sufficient
to hold in battle and fully capable of making a Davion regret his choices in
life," and the team turned to the rest of this ship. Unfortuntely, there
simply wasn't much left to be done. Not because they'd been so thorough, but
because there was barely any tonnage left. Nevertheless, they did what they
could. The Von Rohrs was fitted with 8 dropship collars to assist in fleet
transport, four wings of Aerospace Fighters to provide dropship screening or
support, and enough fuel and consumables to maintain the crew for a year's
worth of time. To save costs, a Lithium Fusion Battery wasn't installed, but
to compensate, an HPG was. This allowed constant communication between ships
and command.

All of this came at the price of not even 47,000 tons of cargo space, of which
over 17,500 was dedicated to spare parts and 4,000 to Aerospace fighter
maintenance, fuel, and ammunition. With just under 25,000 tons left for
general usage, the Von Rohrs typically had to assign one or two of its
dropship collars to cargohaulers in order to support any fleet. What's more,
the haste in which the design team was forced to create the ship meant that
parts (in particular the life-support and fire control systems) broke down at
an increased rate, requiring ships to burn through their spare parts stores
quickly to keep the ship in fighting shape.

When all was said and done, however, Midway Shipyards did it. Though it was
estimated (and proved true) that it would take just under 3 years to build
each ship at their yards, they managed to get the first one lauched in May,
2500.

==Notable Vessels & Crews:==
DCS Unbreachable Purity - 2497-2500 (launch)
DCS Wrath of the Dragon - 2500-2503 (launch)
DCS Testament of Honor - 2503-2506 (launch)
DCS Black Dragon - 2509-2512 (launch)
DCS Oathkeeper - 2512-2515 (launch)
DCS Swift Compassion - 2515-2517 (never completed)

10 ships were commissioned, but with the Von Rohrs Dynasty ending in 2510,
continued production of the ships was in doubt. The new Coordinator, Martin
McAllister, eventually decreed that production would be continued, but the
class name would be changed to the Black Dragon-class. Much like the Von
Rohrs/Hebi Battlemech, however, political stigma against the design would see
it be considered a somewhat dishonorable post. Production would cease on
the new Kuritan Coordinator, Warren Kurita's order in 2518 with the 6th
vessel, Swift Compassion to be the last. The Swift Compassion would never be
completed, however, owing to Warren Kurita's mysterious death in 2517.

Wouldn't be surprised if they were, and hell- maybe by the 2500's the series would actually be done! :) More to the point, I was just filling in appropriately cheesy Combine samurai-esque names. The first 3 of which were more elaborate and the 4-6th one were supposed to be a bit simpler owing to the change in Combine leadership.

its the DRACONIS combine.
I conclude that being a fan of everything that has a reference to Dragons is a way of showing your Loyalty to the State.
For the Leader it means to show your connectedness with your people,
much like George V when he changed his familys name to "Windsor" to show his solidarity with the british cause (it was Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha before)
