Teh true purpose if Interceptors is to swat conventionals' out'a the sky, despite the head-count. Ignoring House Rules for fuel consumption, but embracing both rules-sets for high-atmosphere and Radar Map, whom do you go with?

One has endurance and armor weight, on the assumption even a thrust-8 turbine will get lucky/ behind you, or do you go with the guy whom can carry external ordnance and still move two "hexes" on the Radar map … as per a House Rule that invokes the pre-Hardbound version of the rules.

Even bone-stock LAAMs will do a job to conventionals; Do you care when you lug around four Medium Pulses?

No: You don't give the time of day to anyone in the vacuum; Yes: You attack everything in Teh Soup …

I never said armor was unimportant, but I suspect this is a better balance …

… And since you should be hanging with your wingman 100% of the time, and six medium pulses seems a critical mass, there may yet be one more revision.
