Just a quick design I threw together.
Since the Snow Ravens are a pilot heavy clan, I figure that they'd be slightly more likely to make use of Protos than alot of other clans. And since they have different needs to the other clans, they'd be needing different Protos to fit in with their Tourman.
Heavy firepower, manouverability and staying power, but not quite as fast as could be hoped; on the other hand, it's a jack-of-all-trades that will be able to support the clan pretty much anywhere.

Would this be capable of space operations such as boarding actions?

that is a good question. when protos are ruled to be sealed, and jumpjets allow for 0-G operations.
what do the rules say?

That is something I thought would be possible, and since there aren't any rules against using protos in space (not that I've kept up with that sort of thing over the last few years) it would make sense. The jump jets would be designed to function in gravity, as well as providing propulsion in zero-g situations.

I wonder if the Intersteallar Operations book (Core rule book number 9000 I think, that is humor by the way) will cover this question or not...

i think u will find the exact answer in a completely different rule-book, the first one or the compendiums...

i do not recall the exact phrasing, but its like "the GM has last word"

It makes sense to allow this guy to be zero-g capable like a regular mech. You can always come up with an addition piece or two of proto scale equipment to mimic some of the newer zero-g goodies Raven mechs have access to.
