The Mauser 1540 Infantry assault system has been created as the stillborn idea of a weapon designer who has lost scale.
maybe that was due to his own size, as he was 7 feet tall and rather strong.
His idea was to combine an improved 40 mm repeating(pump Action) grenade-launcher with a hellbore assault laser.
the result weighed 15 Kilos without ammunition and power-pack, 24,5 Kilos with 10 shots and a 200PP military power pack. rather encumbring.
10 were built for evaluation and were doomed to be stored in the deepest cellar, its plans filed away under O for "odity".
Then somebody had the idea that rescued the 1540: he mounted the weapon on the pintle mount on a squad transport vehicle.
then he added a strong (ppc) power pack and changed the ammo feeding mechanism of the grenade launcher to belt-fed/pump Action.
an increased fire rate of the laser was the last Detail he changed.
