I'm having a ''Mixed Tech Problem'' with HMPro & HMBA, With the new XTRO's & Jihad Turing Points, some feature 'mixed' tech, OK should be no problem  , But I'm finding that even with the latest 'patches' for my various HM progs, & the newer tech weapons entered as custom weapons / items, some are not showing up on the weapons screens.

Any Ideas ?, I've just spent a few very fustrating minutes trying to do a mixed tech Grey Death Scout Battle Armour design with a (clan) micro pulse laser - which would not show up on the weapons screen I'm sure my neighbours thought I was in pain due to the howls of fustration I was giving vent to .

And yes I have remembered to set the level 3 mixed tech opition to which ever base system I want to work from - first thing I checked when things went 'belly up''.

Dave.

I have come across this before. I think it is the way HM has the weapons organized. There is a Inner Sphere list, Clan list and a Mixed tech list (or something like that Rick will have to confirm) If you have a mixed tech design with Inner Sphere tech base only the Inner Sphere custom weapons will show. A mixed tech design with a Clan tech base will only show Clan custom weapons.

To get all the custom weapons available to both tech bases you need to enter the Clan weapons in the Inner Sphere custom weapons list and the Inner Sphere weapons in the Clan custom weapons list.

Not sure why you are having problems with a Grey Death Scout Battle Armour design with a (Clan) Micro Pulse Laser though, worked for me

Mixed Tech doesn't read the Custom Weapons File for the non-base-tech - er, tech . . .

You just have to chose your Base Wisely, then enter the gun you where thinking of into the other Custom Weapons File . . .

Thanks guys, good points, yet what I do not understand is the mixed tech drop down selection box says that what ever tech base you select will allow all weapons / gear to be used of which ever tech base. But that's not happening.

Dave.

I would surmise Rick wasn't thinking "Custom Weapons File" when he wrote that . . .

Goose agreed, trouble is the weapon I'm trying to add to a inner sphere Battle Armour is a (already added to prog) Clan Clan Micro Pluse Laser, in my HMBA.

OK the weapon I'm trying to add is a canon (but custom added to HMPro) weapon in HMPro.

Hi, Me again :P

This problem is made even worse now that XTRO Davion is out as most of the designs are mainly (??!!) clan tech some degree or another, and it's a real pain in the butt that entered custom weapons are still not showing up and before anyone suggusts again that I enter the inner sphere weapoms in the clan custon file...I keep getting a message that I've run out of room in the custom files of HMPro

Rick if you read this any advice ?.

Thanks.

Dave.

Same here. Really though the weapons files should be unlimited but for some reason there is a line limit...I guess we are at the point that the program has limits...

I can wait on HMPro 6. And I am in agreement with you on SSW, not switching either, I am staying with Rick's stuff it works and I know Rick will come through, so I am not worried.

You've run out of slots? All 100+ of them?

Do what we did when we only had 42 slots: Rename the custom weapons file, like, with a .bac1 or something, and start a new one . . .

You have to close the program to change files, but so what? :thinker:

True. well the message said I could not absorb any more, any others would have to be put in manually so I'm not sure what's happening to be honest.

Yes I ran out of slots...all of the "extra" new weapons that need ArtIV or Capacitors etc...seem to have their own slot in the custom weapons file, so yes the slots fill up fast. Add to that the numerous home tech weapons I have and you get the picture...after 20 plus years of playing this game, weapons tend to pile up fast...I did find a mech that had nothing but flamers for weapons and faster then a Locust...
