The override: Strictly speaking, no.
But, some things can be subsituted with weapons!
I don't like how most OmniMechs are supposed to be shiff-arms despite growing up with the art in TROs (even if that rule was
always there). So: I created a 1-crit, 0-ton "lower arm" non-weapon, and stick that into many of the Omnis I play with.
I've also fudged in Chameleon Light Polarization using two items . . . Though, if I was
sharp, I could'a done it with one . . .
The more numbers you are willing to let go of (by which I mean $$$ and BV), the more things you can do.
Pretty much the only thing I can't see being done is the new mild-endo frames . . .
