Got kind of a weird problem here... I am using Windows 7. When starting up HM Aero, I can see that the program fires up as it should and the HM Aero icon appears in the quick link toolbar on the lower left of the desktop, like it should. However, although HM Aero appears to be running, the program itself is not visible anywhere on the desktop. It is almost as if somebody (hopefully not me) moved the work area of the program off the screen where I can't see it.

Any thoughts here?

Ah I got it. Somehow the program was indeed "off screen" on my resolution, but tinkering with the resolution settings allowed me to drag the program back into the desktop area.

Yeah …

So you can use the Move command in the Windows taskbar, or shut down the program and kill off the .ini for it (I think that was Rick's cure for this), or else you can go install Sizer, which I remember was a way to get it to pop back onto the desktop proper.

Correct. Deleting the INI file for any of the programs will revert to the default size, location and settings, and will recreate the INI file.

Ok, so what is the exact name of the file and what folder is it in? I don't see it in the HM Aero directory.

The name is 'hmaero.ini', and it will usually be in the c:\Program Files\HeavyMetal\Aero\ directory.

Note that if you have your computer set to hide known file extensions, you won't see the INI part. Personally, I hate that particular setting: you're expected to know by icon type an INI program from a TXT program, etc. You'll probably need Admin privilages to delete it, and if you're not running as an Admin, Windows might be hiding a different version of the INI program in an obscure location, which is one reason I recommend running HM programs as an Admin.
