I just got a new computer to replace one that died. I was able to reload all of my HeavyMetal programs except for Aero. The computer starts the load, than locks up and will not load the program. The computer has Windows 8. Any ideas?

Aero uses all of the runtime files the others do, except one additional: vsprint7.ocx. Make sure you install according to http://www.heavymetalpro.com/vista.htm , and then the "What if that doesn't work" section, maybe try:

1) Start a Command Prompt as an Administrator (Click on the Start button, type 'Command', and when Vista finds Command Prompt, right-click on it and select Start as administrator.
2) Navigate to the C:\Windows\System32 folder
3) UN-Register this control by entering the line regsvr32 vsprint7.ocx /u.
4) RE-Register this control by entering the line regsvr32 vsprint7.ocx.
5) Try running the HM program.

You can also try downloading and installing the Runtimes file at that same location on that same page. Lacking all that, if your install file is old, email me with the info (name, email, etc. you purchased with) and I'll set up a new download for you.

If an installed link is not found, then obviously the file is not there. Perhaps this is an old link, to an old location? I'd make sure you delete/remove all HMAero directories, links, etc. then try to reinstall. Even if there are problems with the install, it should find the object (exe) file.

Sorry 'bout that. :embarrased:

This is a brand new computer that has never seen HMAero. The file that came up missing was your vista.htm link

The comma after the link was somehow included. I've corrected it, so it should be okay.

Well, that was pretty much an epic level fail. Nothing worked. The one time I got it to run it bombed out with file compression errors. None of the tips worked.

Your disc is pretty old. Perhaps you need to email me, so I can set up a new download for you.
