I was wondering if you could put clan weapons on Inner Sphere battlemechs in HMP and if so, how?

The level 3 mixed tech option doesn't appear to cover weapons.

I can't differentiate between IS and Clan, all weapons seem to be IS, the ER PPC is 15Heat 10Dmg (standard IS ER PPC). I can't see the Clan option anywhere. The weapons labelled Ins- Don't seem to follow either rules for IS or Clan.

Is there another area I'm supposed to look at?

There should be something as tag with the IS or C for the weapons.

Ok, after having a closer look, it comes up and says in Mixed tech that weapon options are available for both, unfortunately what I'm looking for is a straight swap over, and in the weapon section it says "Available Inner Sphere (Clan) weapons to choose from:"

So it seems you can't just grab the Clan weapons and place it into an IS Mech...

There might be a work-around though...

When you choose Mixed Tech, weapons from both Techs should be available in the listing, one being noted with (IS) or (C) after it. Unfortunately, it looks like I may have screwed something up in the weapons files included with the last update (in December). It wasn't really an update of the program, and therefore should not have changed the weapons files, but it looks like they have been changed, possibly mixed with work from HMPro6. And, to be honest, I'm having trouble locating un-messed-up weapon files for the BV2 version of HMPro.

The files that I think have the problem are dated 12/22/2014, and are the two weapons files IS-WEAP.DAT and CL-WEAP.DAT. I'm assuming you have this update, and are therefore not properly seeing the Mixed Tech weapons.

Could someone who IS seeing the Mixed Tech weapons (with (IS) or (C) after them), please email me the above two files that you have. I want to look at them and compare with the ones I issued last year.

Sorry for the problem, and thanks in advance for your help. :embarrased:

I found an old install of the program on my laptop and copied the 2 files to my new install on my PC and it now seems to designate the difference (C) and (IS) when mixing tech, i'll send you a copy if i can :)

Rick, Mine were dated 2-20-2009 and I copied them from the HMVee folder.

Okay, I've found the older HMPro BV2 weapons data files, checked them out and updated the update files on my web site at http://heavymetalpro.com/ProgramUpdates.htm. Running the HMPro BV2 update will install the correct files, giving you Mixed Tech weapons. If you've already recovered the files from 2009 and that fixes the problem, you don't really need to update, but if you're missing the Mixed Tech files, I suggest you go ahead and update.

This happened toward the end of December last year, when I updated all the setup files. I apparently mixed data files used in early HMPro6 programming with the HMPro5 BV2 files, and this caused the problem. If you've updated HMPro BV2 after 12/22/2014, but before today, you should do a new update.

Thanks Kahnjohn for sending me the HMVee files (which are slightly different, but definitely did not have the problem), and for others who helped with this. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience. I'll place a post here about updating, in case others haven't noticed the problem.
