I'm starting to do more updates on the forums. Today's update is "metal" buttons for most things, hopefully tying the forum look into the web site a bit better.

It seems you have to hit Refresh (F5) to update the graphics the first time at each screen.

Well, I made a couple small improvements:

Changed the size and color of the Welcome message at the top.

Changed the top buttons (FAQ, Search, etc.) to be larger and more appropriate.

Now if you have private messages, the text will appear in bold.

Re-did the Popular topic buttons; didn't like the real red look. Also, delete post & topic is now red, to keep from hitting accidently.

Oh, sure /now/ you apply logic!

Heck, I spent over an hour last night darkening the dark gray text and symbols on the buttons to be black. Details bug me, and I'm afraid I spend more time on them, sometimes, than I should.

Oh, and why shouldn't /I/ get to look at good looking buttons too, huh?

I believe it should be a red square box with an X in it, that is beside your posts only. You can only delete your posts.

Also, if you click on the Edit button (on any of /your/ posts), there should be a checkbox that says Delete Post. If you check that and hit Sumbit, it deletes your post.

Y'know, these changes look real funky on the Schlotsky's Macs.

(Well, OK, they ain't that bad, but the SpelChek button looks like every other button, save the other buttons retain their colors.)

Yeah, it's the Deluxe Original that causes that. You don't see it if you go for the Vegetarian, but what fun is that? Except is has "SpelChek" on it, right? What kind of differences were you looking for?

Well, the SpelChek button normally looks like a little light-blue box on my computer. Didn't look light blue on theirs. Then again, I"m probably not used to lookin at the site on a Mac.(Or for that matter, not use to posting while eating an Original with three types of vinegar and oil.)

I've been trying to find out why the forums are acting weird sometimes, and had a thought. I set the forums up with their own sub-domain, for record-keeping purposes, and told people to use this address for the forums:

www.forums.heavymetalpro.com << DON'T USE!!!

But, sometimes the forums revert to their "true" location, which is:

www.heavymetalpro.com/forums/

And I think this might be confusing the cookies. And as you know, there is nothing worse than a confused cookie!

Anyhow, please use this address to start up the forums:

Please bookmark it. I have also changed the links on my web site to be like this. Perhaps this will fix some of the confusion.
