==Overview:==
     Described in OmniTech’s promotional material as "a deadly fusion of the
King Crab and the Marauder II," the Colossus took Solaris VII by storm when
it debuted in 3052. Using advanced pulse lasers and an assault autocannon, the
first Colossus gained fame at the hands of Terra Belmond, dismantling one foe
after another. OmniTech experienced an explosion of orders and it became the
design that the "cool MechWarriors" wanted for a time, until the Berserker and
other new BattleMechs came to Solaris. Then Terra Belmond left Solaris to
become a mercenary, and OmniTech lost its most visible sales magnet.
     Colossus sales languished in the years that followed, spurred from time
to time when they received gun camera footage of the design in action on the
battlefields of the Human Sphere. OmniTech still fell into the back line of
BattleMech producers though, becoming reliant on other companies' product, and
went out of the notice of most companies, moving to the outskirts of Solaris
where they ended up customizing BattleMechs in the Reaches.
     Ironically, that isolation saved them when the Word of Blake attacked and
took over and destroyed the best factories. OmniTech became one of the primary
suppliers of the Solarian defenders, and when Terra Belmond and dozens of
other former Solaris fighters returned, OmniTech's Colossus once again gained
the spotlight. In battle after battle, Terra's Colossus anchored the lines and
took everything the Word threw at her.
     When the Solaris and DropShip Irregulars and their allies finally drove
the Word away, OmniTech had a genuine war hero to sell their product. It took
them years to rebuild the factories that time had cost them, but in 3080 they
finally ushered in a new era with their first fully-automated production line.
On it they built the CLS-6S Colossus.

==Capabilities:==
     The CLS-6S Colossus is the final evolution of the Colossus series of
BattleMechs, and has remained in constant production for twenty years now. A
Nutcracker assault autocannon and an array of Pinpricker pulse lasers gives it
the ability to fire at a range of opponents, whether move fast or slow, or
come in close or keep their distance. While it lacks the coolant pods of the
older versions, it carries enough heat sinks to fire the Pinprickers with few
problems. The autocannon can generate difficulties, but it has become standard
practice to only bring it into action when the MechWarrior has a good shot.
Even with three tons of ammunition, it can run out quickly if the MechWarrior
holds the trigger down.
     Faster than the previous entries in the Colossus series, the 6S uses a
modified Shipil extra-light engine. Originally an AeroSpace engine, the
Shipil-series engines have since been installed in all OmniTech designs,
giving them a unique sound and feel on the Solaris Circuit. Capable of easily
moving over 60 kph while firing, the modern Colossus is far faster than most
assault 'Mechs in the Human Sphere. While many do carry more weapons, very few
can match the impressive Rock Hard armor plating that makes it extremely hard
to bring a Colossus down in battle.
     Finally, a series of Lexington Lifters in the legs and torso allow the
design to fly through the arenas, or over the battlefield. The mere sight of
such a massive BattleMech performing that feat has caused many MechWarriors to
punch the auto-eject out of reflex, especially when the Colossus' flight path
is aimed at them.

==Deployment==
     One of the official command BattleMechs of the Solaris Irregulars, and
still piloted by Terra Belmond and others in the DropShip Irregulars, the
Colossus is one of the flagship BattleMechs of Solaris. It is also a crowd
favorite on the Solaris Circuit. OmniTech markets the design to the Allied
Mercenary Command as well, and many units that need a fast and maneuverable
assault 'Mech use the Colossus.

Mmmm...yes...nasty little bastard there.

I think this is the best Colossus refit I've ever done. Of course, that's because I kept it closest to the original of any Colossus refit I've ever done...

:crazy:
