Well, it's an interesting alternative. Not really sure if I like it or not, but it IS interesting...

How do T-Bolts fair with the new AMS rules? This version really excels at punching holes, but could use some crit finders.

If the missile weapon normally fires only a single missile

missile strikes the target.
So, if you have AMS, there is 50% chance of avoiding a t-bolt.
Suddenly AMS makes even more sense...

I guess the high effectiveness of AMS against T-Bolts could be the canon justification, or canon example, of why today's large missiles were mostly replaced by the Macross of smaller missiles in the far future...

Modern "large" usually carry many warheads. Many small missiles, if you wish.

Missile, large or small, is a relatively "big" fuel tank with significantly "smaller" engine and payload attached. So, the key factor is not the ease of detection / disabling, but the placing. If someone somehow invents an effective fuel that can fit into a smaller fuel tank - you'll get smaller missiles.

I thought I remembered something like that with the reworked AMS. We are still playing piecemeal rules, and slowly switching to TW.
