Here is a 'Little Known' Com Star designed Marauder Variant.

Using data 'browed' from the Fed Suns (MAD-5D) & intel from early contacts with Clan Wolf, a true Mad Cat (Marauder /Catapult) - Inner Sphere style.

Not many produced, exact number remaining in service with either Com Star / W.O.B unknown.

I actually like it. I would probably drop a ton of ammo, and drop the MPL for a standard ML, using the tonnage to up the JJs to 120m, but that's just me.


Edit: I see that you are out of crits, so it is more like drop two tons of ammo for two JJs. I don't like the unmatched lasers, but your armor is already maxed, so it makes sense to leave them as is.

Rockjock01 Thanks for your kind words :) , I do have another version of this Marauder where I have dropped the Jump Jets & added Art IV to both LRM's, I do think what you said about the 'mixed' lasers is very true...but as you noticed I ran out of crits & would have had tonnage left over if I had both as standard mediums.

Dmitry,

I totally agree with you, the MAD-5D IMHO is the Bees-Knees (best) of TRO3050's Marauders.

(OOC - I wanted a design to go with a mini I picked up on e-Bay a right bitch to make good mini out of - a rather shoddy copy & a conversion of a MAD 4A II & a Catapult's top torso with the LRM's added to the top torso of the MAD II, so to cut a long story short those stats were what I came up with).

A very nice 'Mech design you have there & I see you kept to standard armor so you even have spare crit spaces. :thumbsup:

Most of all I wanted to keep the jump jets. They gave MAD-5D an edge in heavy terrain.

In fact, I like all of the TRO 3050 Marauders. MAD-5D is the jack-of-all-trades among them. MAD-5M and MAD-5S are also quite good in their niches (for the 3050, of cause).

I was thinking the same thing.
Skip the -5D effect and Jumpjets & just base it off the 3R since that is what C* was supposedly "refitting" with LRMs.

Use the XL to get the tonnage for the LRMs, but otherwise keep it simpler.

Standard IS & Armor like the Mad-3R but with XL engine to add LRMs instead of the AC5.
Could also drop to ERLL's to "mimic" the Mad Cat and get more Heatsinks.

I don't have HMP on this computer, but how does this sound? I know it needs to be based on a XL/Endo Marauder version(5T maybe?), but it seems a better match.

2ERPPC, 2MPL in the standard arm mounts.
2 LRM 10s, plus 4 tons of ammo split between the two side torsos.
15DHS
4 JJs in the legs.
Max standard armor.
No CASE, which with the XL doesn't make much difference unless you are doing a campaign:)

From my chicken scratch it should workout ok critwise.
