Before the end of 3060 the shortcomings of the Timber Wolf MkII and the Linebacker Omni-Mech had become obvious to the Wolf clan Keshik. Both designs had their merits and would continue to serve the Clan, but neither would be successful at replacing the Venerable Timber Wolf. Due to the findings from these projects work was begun on an Improved version of the Timber wolf.
The Timber Wolf Mk III builds on the already solid Design of the original Timber wolf but has heavier armor, and generally better Heat Dissipation to Heat Generation Ratios. The Weapons loads of the Mk III Timber Wolf Omni-Mech are similar to some of the original Timber Wolf Variants but are adjusted to allow longer battlefield stays by increasing ammunition loads and dropping superfluous weapons.
The Mk III has yet to be tested in Battle but has been well received by the Mech Warriors of the Wolf Clan who find it a familiar and at the same time Superior Machine. So far the Timber Wolf Mk III and its variants have been seen in operation with Clan Wolf and the Exhiled Wolves. No other Clans apparently have taken interest in this design.
