==Overview:==
The Resolution Class Assault Carrier is based on the Fox's Lair light Carrier
constructed in the year 3082, after four years of operational service,
designers and engineers of the Fox's Lair had managed to accumulate enough
working knowledge for a possible larger design, this in turn was compared with
datum collected on the FWL's Thera Class Carrier and also the Ghost Bears
Leviathan II class. With this the design team went to work, deciding that the
basic design of the Fox's Lair would be the best format to work with, they
extended the hull of the ship and used the extra space and tonnage gained from
the extension proceeded to add in the features that would turn the design in
to the Resolution Class

The Resolution Class carries the same standard weapon package as the Fox's
Lair did but on a slightly larger scale, this mostly comprised of the
upgrading and adding to the ships NPPC's, from 8 Mediums to 16 Heavys. Also
increased was the number of the ships Capital Missile Launchers, from 16
AR-10's to 32 AR-10's. The ship still retains the 16 NAC/30's of its parent
design, as for secondary weapons the ship also retains the same weapons load
of the Fox's Lair.

The Resolution's main firepower though is its 300 fighters and 12
dropship's. Equipped with enough bay doors to launch all 300 of its fighters
in one turn, the Resolution is more than capable of coming into a conflict
fully armed and readyfor action and with its dedicated fighter supply and fuel
bays more than capable of continous fighter Ops for extended durations, in
addittion the Resolution class carrys 6 of the Hunter Class CV's with each one
capable of operating and launching 60 fighters each, thus bringing the fighter
total to 740, two assault dropships act as anti missile/dropship/fighter
escorts, the remaining four drop points are taken up by four Mammoth D's, to
provide the Resolution with enough supplies and fuel to continue operations
for extended periods of time.

Also the Resolution carries 216 Marine Battle Armor for defense against
boarding actions, but with the Resolutions 12 Small Craft, the Marines can
quickly be organized for boarding crippled enemy ship's themselves.

Motown is correct. Its was also most likely used in Star Trek at some point too. As for the design. I ilike it. It will make a good heavy fleet carrier for the AFFSN.

Motown is correct. Its was also most likely used in Star Trek at some point too. As for the design. I ilike it. It will make a good heavy fleet carrier for the AFFSN.

So what would the Battlegroup look like?

Maybe a crusier for big gun support and 3 destroyers?

Since this is based on a Davion fleet deployment what kind of fleet numbers do you believe is available in each of the March Fleets?

To be honest, I have know Idea, I was just fielding the design to see if it would fit in Hitmans alt Davion/non jihad timeline, so I have know info on the Davion fleet of that period.

If I recollect somewhat corectly, does the Davions have three or four Marches, if four I can see at least 1 of your Resolutions being stationed in each March.

Well its a post Word of Blake War alt. time line & its the lead Davion player at my club that the Block III Davion Destroyer is for. He is not very good at matters naval. So he left it up to me to build the AFFSN fleet for him.

With the way the AFFSN stands right now. It is one of the smaller Naval powers. I could see this design at the centre of a Battle Group. With a Block II Avalon, 2 Block III Davion Destroyers, & 2 Fox Block II Corvettes.

On second thought I will keep the Resolution at its 3,5 speed, and will just try a different layout for a mid range 4,6 carrier.

Okay now I am kicking myself I should have realised that because the Royal Sovereign class was/is my favourite class of Battleship.

Fearless, Dauntless, Relentless; these names are better suited for battleships.

That's an odd name for a non-amphib. I'd expect that name on something with capabilities roughly similar to the Kyushu.

They were also built to use oil-fired boilers (making them significantly faster). The later R class was built on the premise that oil might not be available and thus ran on coal-fired boilers. Furthermore, the Rs were never modernized while some of the QEs were practically completely rebuilt.

Three of them were rebuilt. The QE, Barham, & Warspite.

Tarawa was the name of one of the Essex class. She was a standard fixed wing carrier.

Actualy It was renamed Nassua. More info on the Tarawa class LHA
Actualy there were two classes of Battleships that had that name the one we have been discussing built 1913-1914 and an older one laid down c.1892

USS Leyte Gulf is a Ticonderoga class missile cruiser. I know because I was on watch aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt when the two ships collided in 1996. And no, it wasn't my fault.

Ummmm, not that I'm aware of. I think they may have started building one, but with the Kreigsmarine stuck so close to home by the middle of the war, there would have been little point. And besides, any construction would have been well within the range of Allied bombers...

The Name of the German carrier was the Graf Zepplin, the basic hull was completed and only awaited final fitting, the reason for the ship never getting its fighters was due to the interference of the German Airforce, the fighter to be used on the carrier was to be a modified ME-109 and a modified Stuka for the divebomber role.

here is a website with some info on the carrier
