Oh yeah, I said Ground Wars baby ! Now I know that this has been posted before in earlier WIP version, this time around it has been rescaled somewhat. What you see here is the 6mm standard model. The little trooper next to it is 6mm and the blue block is what an Abrams hull would look like next to it. Mr.Ben is currently finishing up the preliminary rules for the standard combat. So hopefully we can start some playtesting for this. Are ya ready for that Max ?
Anyway, more to come sooner than later I hope so enjoy.....

More WIP.....
DSR Tiger II Class Hoverarmor
Image

Right now the pieces count stands as;
1X main hull (resin)
1X main turret (resin)
1X main gun (metal)
10X hover fan pods (?)
?X various support weapons. Might incorporate some into the casting of whatever main piece they reside on also. (metal – if separate)

Still might end up re-scaling. What I had originally wanted was to do these in 6mm and have the option of 15mm LE models. But many of the designs we are doing are based on exsisting or historical combat vehicles, in this case the Tiger 2 tank. And then the plan to size it out at twice the size of the real thing and twice the size of the corresponding GHQ mini. We'll see

what does it fire from that muzzle? disks? i like that idea :D

i would prefer a hover that has a skirted hover-cushion. not for taste, but imagine that construction above cross a sandy patch of desert. it would have visibility zero in no time, and the enemy would order his artillery to "fire on the dust". i think even tracked tanks now have skirts to keep the dust/sand down. it also helps keeping the sand out of the engine. and with a hover u would sandblast the turbines away, even when the power-source would be a fusion reactor.

i know we do not need that level of realism in a game based on fiction...but i still prefer things to be "realistic"

And from the modelling/casting standpoint, it would reduce the number of parts and make the mini itself a bit cheaper. But I agree with you

Those are some really cool designs RT. I especially like the 6-track, dual main-gun tank.

I can say this, the Scimitar combat walker is going bye-bye. Just one of those deals where I dont like it no matter what I do to it and that this faction actually doesnt use big mecha.

On that note, finished up the un-named super-heavy. Introducing the Cossack Super-Heavy AFV. Just need to do a few trimmings to get a valid print file and then do the 3mm not-so-detailed version...enjoy

Revamped the Challenger very heavily and renamed the Lancelot Heavy TRAX. The 6mm version is in many, many pieces but 3mm will be in 5 pieces or even 2. Depends on how it looks for moldability. Anyway...enjoy

LOL, indeed !

FYI, ordered the 3mm scaled versions of the super-heavies above. Hoping those will turn out good(for Shapeways) that way I have them to use when I run rule proofing. aLSO STARTED BASING THE mONOPOLY cITY BUILDINGS i PICKED UP. Going to paint them all gray so that they are all generic in appearance as I want the focus on the minis.

Thought about pulling the figures off my MWDA troops and battle armor to use as troop markers and power armor/Mecha.

Play map will be made from Mr. Rick's Heavy MEtal Map.

Ah 3mm goodness. Started working on the buildings and terrain for my 3mm offerings of the future. These are mainly to use in
our play-testing for Galactic-Ground Wars. Got the idea to really generic buildings from the guys who did Mini Mech. Just wanted
to go a step further and in the end we might just do our own line of the 3mm buildings or put together a tutorial of what to
use to make 3mm-ish scaled urban terrain...but I get ahead of myself;)

Started off by using Monopoly City buildings(not my pics)

New set
http://cf.geekdo-images.com/images/pic272392_md.jpg

then paint the whole set a neutral gray. Should provide a great urban sprawl to fight in or use for an objective.
These are a few that I have worked up to be Shapeway'd in the near future

this last one is designed to be a "stackable"

More to come...
