I was looking through my latest ebay hauls and I got some toys that might garner some attention.... but what are they...

Item 1: Not so much of a what is it, but a "When the hell did they"... It's the book from the battletech 1st/2nd edition boxed set but in... Italian! same book with the shadowhawk on the cover, same data inside, but written in the language of love.... er..... The mafia.... Er.... Spagatti!

Item 2: A GIANT pewtwer longbow. 2.5-3 inches tall! The torso free rotates, and the hex base says: "1985" and "Harmony/tatsunoko" and "D.H.D." It's bigger than a reaper CAV miniature, but the base is Battletech sized....

Item 3: an even TALLER (3-3.5") Robotech Valkerie! Head looks to be the VF-1D (tan and orange one with the triangle head, each "ear" ending in single antenna, its face a square window recessed in the head iin the robotech series, no corisponding battletech miniature) Same hex markings as the longbow. No super thrusters on the back, but also no place where any would appear to go...

All three weird items came into my possession as part of other stuff I aquired, and except the Valkerie (whichI'm thinking about painting in skull-squadron motif) I'm willing to swap with. PM me for details.

Feel free to threadjack after you guys tell me what the hell the mechs on steroids came from...

The Harmony stamp is a dead give-away. The longbow is actually a liscensed reproduction of the Robototech Spartan(IIRC).

There were Robotech Figures during the second (?) set of runs for RoboTech cartoon (I remember 1 run in 83,84,85 time frame, and a second in early 90's?), IIRC just before BattleTech Cartoon was aired.

Anyway with a later run of the cartoon on US TV there were RT action figures in KayBee toy stores. I saw them then and they were $$. but years later I found some at a KayBee Outlet for $0.99. I bought 1, should have bought them all! But I got a Warhammer (BT) don't remember the RT name. It stands about 3 in. tall, fully articulated arms and torso rotation.

They had they longbow (BT) at teh time, but I was looking for Marauder and was a little dissapointed not to see it. But Warhammer was a good find.

EDIT I forgot about the 1985 stamp. I will have to look at mine to see what time frame it was. I never saw the action figures during my first seeing the RT cartoon, and I looked for them, only during the later cartoon run.

EDIT AGAIN I am an idiot... and should read more before posting... argh... mine is not pewter, but plastic. Similar sounding to the Veritech, yellow/brown in color probably 3-3.5 in. tall. I still want to look and see if there is a date.

The only BT ones I've found are from TYCO. Hunchback, AxeMan, Summoner and some others....

There was a line of Robotech lead minis. They were all somewhat larger than the Ral Partha Battletech clones, and usually a little less detailed. Friend of mine from San Antonio busts out his Zentraedi Officer's Battlepod just for the intimidation factor. Being larger than the other Marauders on the field is kinda cool I guess.

Yeah, weren't they made for Palladium's Robotech RPG?

I assume there was a tie-in. There were never any established minature rules that I saw.

Did they? I always though it would be the loop hole for Unseen leads . . .

I'd like to see the molds for the unseen leads get sold to harmony gold, have them release a BS game with the mini's and watch as we buy hundreds of the mini's and let the books gather dust.

Kinda like me with Heavygear/Joviancronicals. I have about 3 dozen of the mechs, but the only dp9 book I own was given to me by a confused relative who thought it was a battletech book.
